SANITATION

SANITATION

The Sanitarian in Orange County educates for the goal of preventing disease outbreaks, promoting healthy lifestyles, and protecting the community. The Sanitarian is responsible for handling all food safety, permitting, inspections, and complaints at any food establishment in the county. We investigate all food complaints. They are responsible for the overseeing and compliance of state codes regarding all on-site septic permitting and inspections. All residential and commercial sewage disposal systems that are not connected to a regulated sewage facility, are required to obtain a septic permit. All repairs and new construction must be inspected and signed off by our inspector. We investigate all sewage complaints. Many environmental complaints are taken care of by the county sanitarian as well. All environmental complaints must be formally filed in the Health Department office. We will not handle these by phone.
